The DISC profile can be used in a variety of ways but one of the main things is its ability to create reflection about yourself and your prefernces in relation to your current jobs and future career. Sometimes you may allready be aware of some of the elements uncoverered by the profile and the feedback and sometimes you may be suprpised by the findings - ultimately you should be able to pinpoint certain aspects of yourself better after having received the feedback.

The DISC profile can also assist you in relation to improving your collaboration with your colleagues - getting to know how other people respond to your profile and how your profile responds to them is a key aspect in ensuring proper communication, well defined roles and common understanding in a research group fx.

A key element in AAU's career services for PhDs and junior researchers is individual counselling. As a PhD student, recent PhD graduate (until one year after obtaining the PhD degree), or young researcher at AAU, you can book a one-on-one talk to discuss the direction of your career and/or alternative career options - within or outside academia.

RELEVANT ORGANISATIONS
Trade unions (e.g. DM, DJØF, or IDA): Trade unions act and negotiate on your behalf to secure you the best possible salary level and working conditions. Being a member of a trade union is not obligated by law, but it is very common and can provide you with a series of employment- and career-related legal support and services you may need such as guidance regarding individual employment contract, salary, and industrial accidents and injuries. Your choice of trade union depends on your educational background and workplace.

Unemployment insurance funds:

Having unemployment insurance is generally a good idea. Trade unions are associated with unemployment insurance funds, but in order to sign up you are not obligated to become a member of a trade union.

A public employment service for highly qualified international candidates looking for a job in Denmark, and Danish companies searching for talented foreign candidates. Workindenmark is part of the Danish Ministry of Employment and member of European Employment Service (EURES).
